  2. Callie Khouri (b. 1957)
    wrote the screenplay for the movie ‘Thelma & Louise‘ (1991)
  3. Patti Smith (b. 1946)
    wrote a memoir called ‘M Train‘ (2015)
  4. Sappho (c. 590 BCE)
    was a Greek poet from the island of Lesbos and known for her lyric poetry. She is the first woman writer to appear in the written archive of Western letters
  5. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (b. 1977)
    Writer of the Novel ‘Americanah‘ (2013)
  6. Olympe de Gouges (1748-1793)
    Author of the ‘Declaration of the Rights of Woman’ (1791), written in response to the 1789 ‘Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen’, which is a human civil rights document from the French Revolution.
  7. Maya Angelou (1928-2014)
    was a writer and poet. She wrote 7 autobiographies, the first being ‘I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings‘ (1969)
