Every week a female portrait
The fourth of our series: Malay Girl, 1938 by Irma Stein.

Irma Stern (born on October 2, 1894) was a major South African artist and has achieved national and international recognition in her lifetime with her paintings and sculptures.
Her extensive travel experience provided a wide range of subject matter for her artworks. Her expressive portraits were characterised through their saturated colors. (Wikipedia)

As Women are mostly overseen, ignored or written out of history, it’s time we look into their work!
